Most of us cannot imagine putting up pink drapes in our living rooms, family rooms or dining rooms. Pink drapes seem too cutesy. They seem to lack sophistication. They almost seem embarrassing. In reality, there are few situations in which it would make sense to use pink. Let us look at a few of them now. First, you might want to put up pink drapes if you are planning to contrast with your other furnishings. You do not want to go pink if you have a great deal of other pink items in the room. That is just too much.
The more pleats you have, the greater is the stacking space they require when opened. Curtains, many times, have no pleats and more times than not, remain closed. If they are opened, many drapes have no pinch pleats or very thin ones and take up very little space when open. Drapes require a lot more space when open because the fabric is much thicker, especially if lined. In a limited space, if drapes are to be used, they should be draped and tied back in a stationary position for maximum open exposure.
Silk drapes are usually more expensive than any other type of materials used for curtains. But you dont have to hesitate to decorate your room with silk drapes. You can find silk drapes on sales at affordable rates which you can take advantage of. Keep the measurements of the windows with you in your wallet where ever you go. Thus you may be able to check whether the curtains available are of the required size when you find such offers. Most of the silk drapes available are of good quality and well made. You dont have to worry about their quality.
